Madam Catherine Krobo Edusei Benson


Madam Catherine Krobo Edusei Benson is the owner and founder of Eden Tree, a leading producer and distributor of high-end fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs in Ghana. Madam Catherine is a frontier in the production, packaging and marketing of vegetables in Ghana and has brought the industry to a new standard.

Incorporated in 1997, Eden Tree has grown from a US$300 investment into one of the key actors in the vegetable industry in Ghana worth about US$1.5miliion. Through hardwork, innovation and excellence, coupled with strict compliance to international food safety standards, Eden Tree has become a favourite name in the vegetable industry, with 80 vegetables, fruits, and herbs-related products to a customer base ranging from major food retailers and hotels in Ghana to restaurants and individual households.

Apart from her own nucleus farms in the Volta and Eastern regions of Ghana, she works with a unique list of exceptionally trained outgrowers, impacting positively on the livelihood of these farmers and their households.

She is a visionary leader and persistent in all her endeavours. She is a great motivator and a role model to many young women. She holds a Diploma in Business Administration and has rich experience in the banking industry. She has won some prestigious awards including; Feminine Ghana Achievement Awards 2015 (Most Distinguished Female Supplier of Fresh Vegetables), Life Achievement Award in Promoting Urban Farming in Ghana, Agri-Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2013, SME Trade Sector Award “Agri Business”, and Obaa Mbo (a Ghana TV Africa recognition of women of substance and distinction in the Ghanaian society).

Madam is keen to support any young agricultural entrepreneur by way of mentorship, business development and advisory services.
