Profile of Dennis Sedem Ehiakpor



Dennis Sedem Ehiakpor is an agricultural economist, agribusiness development professional and a researcher. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Kwame Nkrumah University for Science and Technology and an MPhil in Agricultural Economics from University of Ghana, Legon, Accra. He has also received trainings in Strategic management from GIMPA, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and short course training in Econometric data analysis software, STATA  from University of Aberdeen, UK.


Dennis begun his career with MoFA in 2007 and has over seven years working experience with international donor and local organizations including USAID, DFID, AGRA, CIDA and ACDEP; three years managing an SNV funded NGO (SAIDC) in capacity building, poverty reduction and agricultural research. He is a co-founding partner of Ghana’s Agribusiness Centre (GABC), a platform for promoting investments into the agribusiness sector and an information hub of credible data and information for agribusinesses in Ghana.


He worked with Ghana Education service for four years and currently teaches at the Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences, Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University for Development Studies, Nyankpala Campus, Tamale and an Acting Executive Director of SAIDC, a local NGO, into poverty reduction and sustainable development. Dennis is an author and has published a number of peer review articles in both local and international journals. His research interest is in the area of agricultural marketing and commodity value chains, technology adoption, Agricultural credit, Poverty reduction and development.
