The budgetary allocation to the agricultural sector in the period 2001-2011 averaged GHC 193 million (in 2001 constant prices). The agricultural sector budget increased in both nominal and real terms over the period. Real budgetary allocation increased nearly five times, from GHC 65 million in 2001 to GHC 315 million in 2011.

The report used data from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, COCOBOD, the Forestry Commission, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, the CSIR, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Ghana (UG), University College of Cape Coast (UCC), University for Development Studies (UDS), the MIDA, and MOTI.
